Kitchen Mixer Help

I bought one of these.. beautiful design! The etched glass bowl is very attractive, you almost want to serve something in it.

It isn’t a heavy duty machine. In making Brioche, the mixer actually started smoking out the vent. I had to let it cool for quite awhile before trying it again.

When I was looking online and in the stores, the price was so high…. almost $300 some dollars everywhere. Then I found one on overstock.com for half the price and snatched it up. I was under the impression that this was a popular mixer and here to stay for awhile.

This mixer is not expensive and does a great job. It is easy to use, clean, and store. I bought this because I wanted a cheap mixer that I would replace when I got married, but this mixer is so easy and powerful that I just had to keep it. It does a great job. Also the bowl rest is a great feature. You can easily turn off the mixer and rest it on the side of the bowl, instead of on its end on the counter dripping batter all over the place. It makes it so easy to add ingredients without making such a mess. It has a lot of speeds, but I have never gone past 3 and everything has worked out really well. Though I usually use it for thinner batters, if you are going to use it for a stiffer batter you may need to use one of the higher settings. I have never had a problem with the burning smell that you get with some cheaper products, which leads me to believe that this mixer has a great motor. I was very surprised to find that out because for the price I had anticipated the smell that comes with cheap kitchen products.

Our Magic Mill is now ten years old. It accompanies a Braun 5 in 1 kitchen machine and a Rival/Kenwood KM250 as our fleet of stand mixers. It was purchased primarily for yeast doughs and it does the best job of mixing and kneading of any machine we have had including Bosch, KitchenAid, and Moulinex.

The roller and scraper perform beautifully for any recipe up to about twelve cups of flour. The dough hook is used when recipes call for larger amounts. This unit will not “walk” no matter how large the recipe. The unique action of the bowl rotating instead of a mixer head keeps everything stable and smooth. The mixer also does a great job with large batches of stiff cookie dough and it does not break chocolate chips when they are added. For cakes, it creams fat and sugar to a light airy consistency and performs all other mixing chores with ease. The plastic bowl with wire whips does a better job for whipping cream and egg whites than the metal bowl with roller and scraper, this option is included in the purchase price with many retailers. This machine has never disappointed us. It is manufactured in Sweden by Electrolux with typical Swedish high quality standards.

This was my first KitchenAid — the price scared me a little, but we decided to go for it. It’s absolutely great. It’s a big machine, and I knew before I bought it that it would have to have a home out on the counter if I was going to use it. It wasn’t likely that I was going to lug a 25 lb. machine out of the cabinet every time I wanted to mash potatoes!

Potatoes are ALWAYS smooth. My daughter uses it for cookies all the time. I make cakes, and it’s great for frosting.

I received this mixer in November as a gift. It is not something I would have purchased for myself, being somewhat frugal. But I love it and it is well worth the price.

I struggled with a portable mixer for years with one of those detachable cords that was always coming unplugged. I don’t know how many times it fell into what I was mixing. A wonder I didn’t get electrocuted!

I am impressed with the fact that this mixer has several different functions.

I received my mixer for Christmas this year from my fiance’s mother. I must admit, it was my favorite gift.

I love this mixer. It mixes everything thoroughly, the paddle reaches every part of the bowl. I’ve made a double batch of chocolate chip cookies with this mixer with no problems at all.

I think my favorite thing about this appliance is that you don’t have to stand over the bowl and mix the batter yourself. Not too long ago, I was making chili and needed to tend to that. I threw my corn muffin ingredients in the mixer, turned it on, and when I was ready for it, it was ready for me!

I love my old Kitchen Aid. It was great. It was supposedly the one for ‘home use’ and it was made YEARS ago… so I thought I was doing the right thing by upgrading. I was wrong. Maybe I got a lemon, but those kinds of things need to be addressed in reviews too, so here I go.

I work at a cafe. We use the kitchen aid daily- which is why we upgraded to pro when we finally killed the last one. Since the day we got it I knew there was something wrong with it, but being that I am always paranoid everyone dismissed my opinion on it. We’ve had it for a month now and it has only gotten worse!
