Forego the Ergo - Black & Decker 200 Watts Ergo EHM90 Hand Mixer

The Black & Decker Ergo handheld mixer upon first inspection looks like it is supposed to be ergonomic (supposedly more comfortable) to hold. In actuality it resembles a duck. I was delighted at having a new mixer after using an inexpensive, broken mixer for twelve years!! Boy was I in for a disappointment. I was given this mixer as a Christmas present and I don’t have the heart to tell the gift giver. I found this machine awkward and downright uncomfortable to use. I developed a cramp in my forearm the first time I used it. It is also very loud and quite heavy in your hand.

CUISINART SmartPower after 1YR.! - Cuisinart 220 Watts HTM-7L SmartPower Hand Mixer

I have had my Quisinart SmartPower mixer for one year and can’t believe I ever got along without it! I really found that the read out LED on the handle is great (for those timed mixes!) and when you set a speed, it stays at that speed even if the substance gets thicker!

The beaters although the same size and shape as my old Black & Decker have held up MUCH better and are as good as when I got them!

My mom who is 83 said she’d thought the extra features foolish when I got it—but guess who loves to use it and keeps telling me how great it is? (RIGHT)

My old huge Sunbeam Mixmaster is loving it’s rest! I never lug it out except for something that needs kneading!

too fast on low speed, but now fixed - KitchenAid 300 Watts KSM90 Ultra Power Series Stand Mixer

We have a ~10 yr. old Kitchen Aid mixer model KSM90 (300W) that has always run fast, i.e. speed would not go lower than 2, resulting in “flour shower” when adding ingredients.

Kitchen Aid technical support was of minimal value, they seemed oblivious to the speed issue, despite my seeing many incidences in other forums. After pressing the issue they did reveal the specs, and indeed the lowest speed on ours was about 50% faster than it should be. Once we were ready to replace it so had nothing to lose, I took it apart.

Great for me - Oster 2504 Mixer

The Oster is a great little mixer although I don’t cook much anymore and don’t use it often. One special time is Christmas, when I do bake lots of cookies and do need a mixer that is fast and easy to clean. Most of the year, it just sits in the lower cupboard waiting for me. It creams the butter and sugar very nicely and, even when I add flour, it just keeps on going. I do an occassional cake from a mix, of course, throughout the year so the mixer does get out once in a while. It does not spatter stuff all over like mixers I’ve used in the past so the clean up is easier - no walls and floors! It is easy to wipe off and the ejectable beaters are very handy. They also clean up quickly and easily. I would say this is the best small mixer I’ve ever had.

A Must Have - KitchenAid 300 Watts KSM90 Ultra Power Series Stand Mixer

This is the best stand mixer anyone could purchase. Perfect for mixing thick or heavy ingredients; the attachments never bind up. There are many attachments available for this mixer, ranging from a pouring shield to a meat grinder, which can be purchased separately. It comes with a 5-quart stainless steel bowl with an ergonomic handle, dough hook, wire whip and a burnished flat beater. I use the wire whip for mixing cakes, etc.; the flat beater I use to make buttercream icing. I have purchased an appliance cover made just for the KitchenAid mixer, as well. This mixer is available in designer colors to match your kitchen. It is a large appliance, but fits well on my counter-top. It has rubber feet that protect the counter. I store all of the accessories in the bowl and have a cover over the mixer.

Power To Spare - KitchenAid KHM5DH Ultra Power® Hand Mixer

Back in my lean and hungry college days, I bought a hand-held mixer in order to impress my boyfriend with my baking prowess. It set me back all of $10, and was in a putrid shade of avocado green. The poor thing did its best, but if I kept it running too long, it would just stop, like a recalcitrant child, and refuse to do its job again until I let it rest about 10 minutes.

No more tired arms. - KitchenAid 325 Watts Artisan® (KSM150PS) Hand/Stand Mixer

One day I decided to make some of my favorite cookies and I didn’t have a mixer so I did it by hand. Bad idea on my part, because they don’t call them $250 cookies for nothing. It takes some work to make them, especially the mixing part. So I figured I would buy a mixer, and so I bought the only brand that I knew. I didn’t expect to buy this particular more expensive one but the salesman was good at his job and I ended up with it. After having it for about 6 months I found that I was using it for anything I could. I was then able to realize that it actually had many other attachments that could be used and I soon found myself buying them. So far I have been completely satisfied with this KitchenAid Mixer and I really enjoy using it, Its more than just a mixer.

Kissed Instant Potatos Good-Bye - KitchenAid 250 Watts K45SS Classic Stand Mixer

I saved for this mixer for six months. Everytime I went to Wal-Mart I would walk down the appliance isle and pray for a sale. My mom had one when I was growing up, so it was a must have for me. Finally after six months of saving my pennies I got to walk down that isle and actually put it in the shopping cart, rather than just admire it on the shelf.

Now that I have it at Home
