I purchased my Kitchen Aid mixer in Sept of 2000 and after my first use I cannot believe that I waited so long to buy it. Sure they can be pricey but it is worth every cent. My aunt a baker who specialized in wedding cakes used her mixer for many, many years and it is still in use today, although she has retired. This mixer is efficient when mixing and to clean. It’s mixing blade works faster to blend ingredients resulting in less prep time. The mixing blade and dough hook are dishwasher safe so cleanup is easy. Whip is not dishwasher safe but easy to clean. The large stainless steel mixing bowl attaches securely to the base. The splatter guard, optional on some models, allows you to add ingredients while the mixer operates without the worry of splattering your kitchen. During the holidays this wonderful mixer made not only holiday baking a breeze, it also made the cheese logs and other treats for my party. It is available in a range of colors so that you can find a color to match your decor. It also has many optional attachments that Kitchen Aid sell either through your local department store or in the included catalog. If you saying to yourself, it is a lot of money for a mixer I would only use a few times a year, using one will change your mind.

I had wanted one of these mixers for years and was surprised with it on my birthday last year (Thanks to my mom, Maureen, Martin, and Sam!). I absolutely love it, and can’t imagine baking and cooking without it.

I love baking bread but sometimes the idea of kneading the dough until my arms were sore changed my mind for me, and the bread machines just don’t do the job right. The dough hook is marvelous in addition to the 5 quart mixing bowl. You can even warm up the stainless steel bowl to keep the yeast at the right temperature.

Stylish and dependable, that’s what the Epicurean is. It can mix the toughest of doughes and it still keeps on working better than anything. It has three different blades it comes with and with these three you can do any of the mixing you will need.

It comes in a variety of colors that can accentuate basically any kitchen! The professional version only comes in three so it is somewhat limited which is part of the reason why I chose the Epicurean.

Included with the package is a nifty little recipe booklet. Surprisingly the recipes are quite good inside - they produce very dependable results that taste great!

I am currently waiting for the delivery of my 4th Sunbeam Mixmaster. My first, purchased about 10 years ago. It worked well until a year ago. I was mixing a batch of cookies. I turned it off to scrape the sides of the bowl and it never turned back on. It had had a good run, so I tossed it and went and bought a new Sunbeam Mixmaster, number 2.

Number 2 lasted 11 months. At that point it too was taken by the same fate as number one. I turned it off and it never came back on.
