I love my old Kitchen Aid. It was great. It was supposedly the one for ‘home use’ and it was made YEARS ago… so I thought I was doing the right thing by upgrading. I was wrong. Maybe I got a lemon, but those kinds of things need to be addressed in reviews too, so here I go.

I work at a cafe. We use the kitchen aid daily- which is why we upgraded to pro when we finally killed the last one. Since the day we got it I knew there was something wrong with it, but being that I am always paranoid everyone dismissed my opinion on it. We’ve had it for a month now and it has only gotten worse!

It is LOUD, CLUMSY AND OVERHEATING!

The motor sounds like it has to work REALLY hard just to hash a few boiled potatoes. I noticed that it heats up as well. At times it heats up so much that the metal in the attachment swells, causing the connection points to fleck metal particles. It also heats the grease up inside and it comes out behind the attachment, there is no salvaging the potato that goes back there, it’s black.

We are still using this one until we can get it back to the store it was purchased at. If I had it in my home it would have been returned the first day I had it.
