Elegant and powerful, the dsm 800 stand mixer smoothly turns out cookie or bread dough, and beats enough eggs for omelets by the dozen. The mixer’s silver-toned metal finish and deep 7-quart stainless-steel bowl add a sleek, contemporary look to any kitchen. Three large metal mixing tools are included: a nonstick dough hook, a nonstick flat beater, and a stainless-steel wire whisk. An optional clear plastic splash guard fits tightly over the bowl; a hinged section of the guard allows the addition of ingredients during mixing.

OK, but one stupid design decision
Positive OK for most any stand mixer duties. Good for about 1 Kg doughs.
Cons: Stupid switch design can throw all the bowl contents out into the room.
This mixer is OK in my estimation, though not particularly different from the Kitchen Aides of similar capacity. Both suffer in handling bread doughs at or near the claimed bowl capacity in my experience. Both are good for about 1KG of flour at about 65% hydration bread doughs.
The slowest speed is almost stalled, which is very handy for initial mixing of dry ingredients.
The Delonghi has a stupid design choice in that the switch, at least on the version I have, operates in both directions, one direction going immediately to the highest speed. I don’t understand why that choice would ever be sufficiently useful to make up for the awful messes it can make if you are not watching it carefully…it is just a disaster waiting to happen.
Minor annoyances are a beater head lock in an awkward location and a beater to head engagement that is indefinite.
