I borrowed this mixer (KSM035) from my sister. when my KitchenAid let me down (that’s another story!). Tried to cream room-temp butter and had great difficulty: bowl didn’t rotate well, the motor sounded taxed (but it sounded the same when just spinning air), and the butter either glopped inside the beaters or stuck like wallpaper to the sides of the bowl. The controls are awkwardly located on bottom of the right side of the stand so that right-handed people must cross over the top of the machine to switch on/off, — which is necessary every rotation so that you can get the batter to the center of the bowl for mixing! If these controls were on the front, either on the base or the head, it would allow for easier pulsing action. But really, pulsing shouldn’t be a requirement for a mixer! Also, the location & design of the beaters eject button makes it difficult to remove beaters and potentially very messy, especially since 98% of the batter will be glued inside them!

In the “plus” column, the 2 bowls nest and the head locks so you can store it as a unit and lift by the handle (beaters must be loose in the bowl & not inserted in head in order to lock). Its lightweight and easy enough to clean. But these qualities do not outweigh the fact that it is substandard at performing its principle function: mixing.
