I bought one of these.. beautiful design! The etched glass bowl is very attractive, you almost want to serve something in it.

It isn’t a heavy duty machine. In making Brioche, the mixer actually started smoking out the vent. I had to let it cool for quite awhile before trying it again.

When I was looking online and in the stores, the price was so high…. almost $300 some dollars everywhere. Then I found one on overstock.com for half the price and snatched it up. I was under the impression that this was a popular mixer and here to stay for awhile.

No sooner did I receive the shipment, I called their customer service and requested to purchase an additional bowl in the event something dreadful would happen to this beautiful etched glass one included with the mixer.

JennAir customer service said the machine went out of production early 2006 and within a month they were sold out of additional bowls. If something happens to the mixer… there are no replacement parts available at all. I told customer service that every store is still selling this at top dollar and she was surprised they are getting away with it.

So here I am… with a beautiful mixer.. afraid to use it because of not getting any replacement parts ever.

Don’t pay much for one!!!!
