My Experience…
If I buy a product and it breaks…I give the manufacturer at least one attempt to fix the break before I decide not to buy their products again.
Because behind each great product is a great manufacturer!
Case in point. I have had my Hamilton beach for 4 years, same product type for 5. And here is the reason why…
Stupid me…I tried to whip cold cream cheese for cheesecake one afternoon…and the motor started smoking! Ok, so this was probably my fault, you say. Sure, but I am going to make sure it was my fault.
So I call Hamilton Beach and tell them my mixer stopped working. They asked me how and I bravely told them it was while I attempted to mix cream cheese when it was cold. (And instead of calling me crazy…) The representative asks me for my address to ship the new one out immediately!
Wow! Service with a smile? No way! All I had to do was mail back the broken mixer at my expense (it was past it’s warranty). UhhhOhhh…Big heavy glass bowl is going to cost me in postage. I am thinking all of this as I am still on the phone with the representative. And so I ask if she knows how much postage will be on the heavy glass bowl. She says “we don’t want you to return the bowl, just the broken mixer”.
ANOTHER WOW!!! So I get…a NEW mixer….never been broken by me (yet). And I get to keep my bowl!
So it arrives and…I get a WHOLE NEW SETUP! Complete with a new mixer and bowl…
What I love about this mixer is first, the manufacturer stands behind their product 110%!
Pieces and Parts
Mixer comes with a detachable mixing stand, splash guard, glass bowl, detachable mixer prongs.
Ease of Use
It is easy to use with 5 speeds. And, BONUS! splash guard that slides on and off the mixer easily! Bowl is glass and fits into the grooves on the spinner tray/mixer stand. You can easily fit a spoon or spatula around the splash guard to stir as you go. You do need to lift the splash guard/mixer when adding ingredients. With mixer stand hooked to the mixer, the bowl turns smoothly…unless you are mixing cold cream cheese…
If you don’t want to pull the whole unit out for one little mixing job, the mixer is light weight and has a nice long cord that doesn’t tangle up (cord is of thicker plastic than usual plug in cords)
Product is easy to clean, with it’s smooth surfaces, you don’t get the “unreachable” gunk build up I have experienced with other mixers.
Stores easily. I place the mixer, prongs and splash guard in the bowl and fit it in my cupboard. It takes slightly more room than the bowl space due to the stand. (2-3 inches on one side)
AND…the moment you have all been waiting for, you can mix cold cream cheese with this mixer. Which I have successfully accomplished with my replacement.
