I received this mixer as a christmas gift two years ago, I loved it…good strong mixing action and the whisk beaters that also come with it, are great to have for mixing egg whites etc.

I make and decorate cakes for special occasions, bithdays etc., well I used this mixer for 10 months and the gears broke, not because of what I was mixing either, because thats what I first thought, so I called black and decker and they sent me another one because this one was under warranty yet. Great! Customer service was very good. I asked her what do I do if it happens again, well I would not be able to replace it because the warranty would have expired. Well I received the new one, and it worked fine for 6 months, and I was mixing a cake mix and again the gears broke!! I am just furious, can’t get a replacement.

Well needless to say I did’nt buy another one, ended up going to the thrift store and getting a cheapy and it works fine.

I cannot believe that this happened to me twice. Black and Decker has always made great products, I don’t understand what happened with these two mixers. I am afraid to buy another one, for fear it will happen again.
