My mother loves to cook all sorts of dishes, and tended to wear out hand mixers with distressing regularity. So I set out to get her one that would last her a long time for a birthday gift, and arrived at this model (or something just about like it).

There are two reasons I can highly recommend this product. First, this hand mixer has a higher rated wattage than most. With thick mixing, lesser powered mixers will run very slow, and slow running motors will burn out. This mixer, with its higher power, will not slow down so much, and that will avoid conditions contributing to burn-out. Second, my mom has had this mixer for about eight years, easily twice as long as any other mixer she previously had.

The only issue I have with this item are that it costs higher than most hand mixers (but you are paying for quality). I probably wouldn’t choose this for the very occasional user, but for anyone who cooks with moderate frequency or higher, this is a very fine hand mixer choice.
