KitchenAid K45SS Classic. For Undisputed Quality Through & Through!! - KitchenAid 250 Watts K45SS Classic Stand Mixer

Quality with a capital Q - KitchenAid 250 Watts K45SS Classic Stand Mixer I bought my K45ss in 1966.If you think of all the purchases you have made in that time span and how many you still...

Other mixers can talk the talk, but they can’t walk the walk!! After years & years of buying and dealing with flimsily-made stand mixers, I became very fed up and began to take a closer look at the KitchenAid stand mixers. Back then in ‘86, there were only TWO models to choose from - the K5SS & the K45SS.

I decided then that I wanted to buy a much better machine to handle all of my mixing tasks. I was so sick & so tired of having to deal with broken beaters, broken plastic gears, broken flimsily-made plastic stand mixer housings and broken burned out motors!!

I bought the KitchenAid K45SS on sale for $165.00 16 years ago and guess what? It’s still going strong 16 years later!!

It has performed almost every task imaginable. From pound cakes, to layer cakes, to yeast breads & rolls, to pie fillings, to egg whites, to whipped potatoes and everything else in between, this machine has stood up to that and a whole lot more. All without even batting an eyelash! No wonder it’s the best brand on the market!!

That $165.00 has gone a long way. The mixer has more than paid for itself ten-fold!!

This particular model, by the way, always was, still is, and always will be the most popular & most affordable model.

Just look at the whopping number of rave reviews that this machine alone has gotten on this website. More than any other model in the entire KitchenAid line of mixers ever! All of which have been rated Very Helpful!!!

Ok, so let’s beat up on the features of this highly popular machine:

1. Planetary mixing action. This legendary mixing method was discovered many decades ago and was derived from the monster Hobart floor-standing commercial mixers found in

bakeries, the large kitchens of schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, pizza parlors and other fine restaurants, where the single beater is mounted off center and travels around the bowl clockwise while rotating it counterclockwise. Result is more thorough beating in less time! It aerates and incorporates the processed food better

by forcing the dough or batter in on itself.

Basically, it’s the same kind of mixing action in a scaled down home version of the giant Hobart mixers for home use.

1. Heavy all-metal construction for stability, strength and durability to last for many years.

2. Smooth quiet-operating HEAVY DUTY TRANSMISSION for precision and ultra-long life. Never needs oiling!

3. Heavy duty long-lasting powerful 250-watt high-torque ball bearing motor has more than enough torque & power to plow through the heaviest doughs and batters with the greatest of ease! Allows for the production of TWO consecutive dough recipes having at least 7 to 8 cups of flour each!

4. Comes with three different type beaters as standard equipment; a dough hook, flat paddle beater and a wire whisk.

5. Motor head tilts up for easy bowl & beater removal.

Bowl locks into place by turning it clockwise.

6. Has locking lever on motor head to prevent it from moving or jerking during use, especially when making dough.

7. Front power take-off hub with removable cap can accept a wide range of optional attachments, such as a food grinder, pasta maker, strainer and citrus juicer.

8. Ten speeds to handle everything from beating a single egg white to kneading dough for breads & cookies to fluff-whipping a bowl of mashed potatoes!!

9. Full one-year replacement warranty on entire product.

10. Heavy duty thick gauge 4.5-qt. stainless steel mixing bowl with handle ( I bought an extra optional extra

bowl for those times when a cake recipe might require the use of two bowls.

This also keeps me from having to remove the processed mixture from the bowl, & washing it again for use in the same recipe. Three-quart stainless steel bowl is also now available at extra cost, for small mixing jobs). I want that one also.

11. This mixer, along with others in the line can be seen in use extensively in cooking shows featured on the Food Network by such celebrities as Martha Stewart, Emeril Lagasse, Sara Moulton, Wolfgang Puck, Mario Batali and other fine celebrity chefs! But I first saw it being used the by the queen of French cuisine & world great French chef, Julia Child, proof the this machine takes a beating and keeps on beating! For years & years!

I get use from all THREE beaters, The Big Three!!! The wire whisk incorporates, lifts & aerates egg whites and whipping cream to almost double their volume! In less time! The Flat Beater is used for general mixing of such things as cake batters & pie fillings. And the Dough Hook is used for making all types of dough for such things as pizza crust, French or Italian bread, or just a regular two-loaf bread recipe.

It’s heavy duty all-metal construction beats the other brands hands down right out of the mix! For long-last durability, beauty and ease of use , a KitchenAid stand mixer is the most sensible choice!! No other mixer brand even comes close. This mixer has handled every one of my mixing task with the greatest of ease!

I’ve made load after load of pound cakes, layer cakes, bread doughs, pie fillings and egg whites and guess what? That mixer, after 16 years, is still sitting in my kitchen waiting for the next mixing task to take on, just like it did when I first bought it!!

I can’t say enough about it, only that I’m so glad that I bought it. It’s the Cadillac of mixers and has been rated #1 by the leading consumer magazines! Many times over! If I had to buy another mixer, KitchenAid would again be my #1

choice! It’s for people who want to get year, after year, after year of high performance and good strong quality!

Want more proof? Just watch some of the cooking shows on the Food Network. I’ll bet that for every show you watch,

you’ll see a KitchenAid mixer in use!

But my long-standing hard-working 16-year-old mixer, the K45SS keeps on going, & going, & going! Like a battleship or an Army tank!! Only the rubber feet had to be replaced in all that time with no loss in overall performance of the machine. This particular model is my baby!!! I wouldn’t change a thing! KitchenAid is still #1 after all these years!!!

IN SHORT:

My long-standing hard-working K’Aid K45SS Stand Mixer has just turned a whopping 21 years old!! Even though I’m pretty certain that it has never been kissed, I think that anyone who has ever experienced broken and sort-lived stand mixers in their life might get the urge to do do every once-in-a-while!!

KitchenAid is still the undisputed leader in stand mixers for home use of ALL time!!! It just can’t be beat!!

A quick note:

I’ve deleted and rewrote this review to include more info &

features on the KitchenAid K45SS as best I could because I felt that it did not get the ratings that it should have gotten before.
