I bought this mixer for my wife for Christmas this year (less than 3 months ago). She asked for a mixer and was quite taken with the look of this one. She simply asked that we not spend a fortune on a Kitchen Aid model for now.
The mixer is made of die-cast metal giving the impression of solid workmanship. It includes a 450 watt motor which is more than many other similarly-priced units. It has a dual motor for 3-way beating action, has 12 variable speeds and comes with 3 different attachments (beaters, whisks and hooks). It also includes two stainless steel mixing bowls that are perfectly sized to fit onto the turning bowl mount. You also have the ability to switch the bowl from center mixing to edge mixing.
Overall my wife was entirely happy with the unit until it simply failed. She pressed the Tilt Release button to angle the main part of the mixer up to put the beaters in. She attached the beaters and made some icing for a cake. When she was done she attempted to tilt the mixer back again to remove the bowl and couldn’t get it to move. It would go up a fraction of an inch and then jam. I managed to get the bowl out from under the beaters and then removed the beaters.
What’s ironic is that I didn’t go for their less expensive model because its tilt mechanism concerned me looking at it in the store. It looked shoddily designed.
Now we’re going to have to find out about getting this one repaired or replaced. I can’t believe it has failed so basically after only 2+ months and less than 10 uses.
