I don’t know how much I can write about this mixer, but here goes.

I have a stand mixer for big jobs, but like to have a small one around for everyday jobs like potatoes, cake mixes and pudding.

My most recent model is a Black & Decker MX45 PowerPro. I had never had a Black & Decker before, and am reasonably pleased with this one.

It has the long stemmed beaters which I like. I don’t like batter splashing all over my hands while mixing.

The beaters are easy to insert, but a little tough to eject. I often end up having to pull them out. This is my biggest complaint with this mixer.

The mixer is light and easy to handle. It is also compact which helps with storage.

There are 5 speeds on this mixer. For my purposes, this is not necessary, but you get what you get. I guess if my stand mixer breaks down, and I am in a bind, I might appreciate this feature.

I don’t think that the Black & Decker would be able to handle a stiff dough, but that’s not what I have it for. It mixes well and with ease.

One feature I do particularly like, which I’ve never had on a hand mixer before, is the ability to pulse. I use this when I have something I don’t wanted mixed real well, but don’t want to mix with a spoon. I will sometimes use it for pancake batter or muffin mix.

Clean up is standard. Wash the beaters and wipe down the mixer.

I have used the Black & Decker mixer for about 6 months now, and am quite satisfied.
