I love baking and am making a cake or cookies at least once a week. So when I got this mixer, I thought I would have it made. I have to tell you though, I get a backache just trying to get the beast onto the counter. I certainly hope I never slip and drop the thing, I’ll be replacing the tiles on my floor!
I am joking a little but this mixer is really heavy so don’t buy it thinking you can store it in a cabinet unless you have someone to help you get it back out. Of course, I am the first to admit I have really wimpy arms so be sure to lift it a few times in the store to test out your own strength.
Another thing I don’t really care for is the fact it only has one bowl and this bowl is the only one that fits the base. You can probably buy another bowl to have as a spare but when I spend this kind of money on a product, I expect it to have what I need. If you are making more than one thing at a time, you will have to wash in between. Again, could be just me but I like to bake and then clean up, I’m personally not great at doing it all at the same time. Something always gets burnt if I divert my attention.
One more complaint about the bowl, the shape is a little odd. It is nice and deep so things don’t splatter out but the blades don’t reach the bottom and it is almost impossible to scrape while the mixer is running without getting your spoon banged up.
I have begun leaving the monster in the cabinet and gone back to using my hand mixer. It just seems easier and faster to me.
End result, it really is a heavy duty product but it just doesn’t seem to fit my needs for ease of use. For the money, I wouldn’t buy it again. In fact, you might just see mine on ebay before long!
