This mixer has bailed me out more times then I can count, I have a small catering business making custom cakes and desserts as well as general catering for small parties. In making my wedding cakes I mix large amounts of batter and for the frosting the mixer has to work very hard to blend all the ingredients. Before purchasing my kitchen aids I burned up mixers on a regular basis and always at the worst possible time, I gave in and spent the money for the first kitchen aid and boy was I impressed. This mixer handles everything I throw at it and keeps running for hours at a time with out a hic up. Seeing how well it worked I invested in another one with the same great results, now several years later they are still going strong. I make good use of the attachemnts also, making my own juice, cole slaw, grinding my own meat etc. I have no complaints. One of the better extras I bought was the shield, I would overfill the bowls and end up with a counter covered with ingredients! Then only down I can think of concerning this mixer is that I chip the mixing beaters and they are a bit pricey to replace. I also have the hand mixer for small jobs and it works great also.

I feel this product would be good for all, it is so versatile that it can handle both big and small jobs and with the attachments you can do most anything. To me it would be the ultimate shower gift. If you never cook or like to experiment maybe you shouldn’t invest the over 300.00 in this but just get the hand mixer, you would still be ahead because I’ve thrown some tough jobs at this little guy also and it’s come through fine
