Kitchen Mixer Help

This KitchenAid Heavy Duty K5SS mixer was a gift from my mom, who knew I was getting serious into a cake business from home. I have used it about 40 times since I got it in December of 2000. Before the KitchenAid I was mixing double-batches of cake from scratch using a hand-held Sunbeam mixer—ouch!

I bought my Kitchen Aid mixer the day after Thanksgiving last year (at 6 a.m.) for the unbelievable price of $159.99. I had wanted one for a long time, but since I don’t do much baking, I couldn’t justify the price. But at that great sale price I couldn’t pass it up.

Well, let me just say that I now love to bake! This mixer is absolutely awesome.

We owned this small, portable mixer,I’m sure, for about seven years. All throughout the time we owned this mixer, it gave superb It has all the features to keep up with a family that makes baked needs rarely, but in abundance.

1. What is comes with:

The mixer itself is contained in the package. There is a 2 1/2 foot cord reach, and has two stainless steel beaters. These are traditional beaters that have two small round disks at the top that keep batter or mixtures from getting inside the machine. The body of the machine is a durable plastic that wipes off simply with a damp sponge.

I received my Cuisinart hand mixer as a Christmas gift and already can’t imagine how I lowered myself to "standard" brands for all these years! My former mixer, a Betty Crocker I had to fill in when the beaters fell apart on my SunBeam last year (after only 5 years), was less than wonderful in my humble opinion! It had excellent power and a wide range of speed selections, plus an utterly fantastic power boost option, but the beaters rusted after every washing and left silver marks on my white mixing bowls! If I could have switched beaters with another brand I may have kept up with it, but had listed a hand mixer on my list for Christmas and hoped for the best.

My husband and I were spoiled rotten by the great gifts we got at our wedding last year. So when I say that this mixer was the best gift we got, that’s really saying a lot. I would have one even if it wasn’t a gift, regardless of the expense. And at the rate my mother has gone through hand mixers, I think that this one will pay for itself just by outlasting other mixers.
