Kitchen Mixer Help

After reading an earlier review, and in need of an inexpensive mixer, I bought this as my first Black & Decker mixer. I used it for 6 months, and it was good to me. While I missed the lower speeds my Sunbeam upright had, for the money, this baby did the job, until I used it on butter that was too hard. The beaters locked, and stripped out the housing that holds them. I should have known better. It had spoiled me, and I forgot that it was still a relatively light weight mixer. So after being so delighted with my first one, I went back for another.

This is by far the best little mixer I have had, The ease of use is wonderful, I have sore hands and this unit is the one for me it is lightweight and the handle grip is great.. It has a very strong motor in it for hand mixers it seems to tackle any job I have for it, and the longer rods on the beaters keep the food from creeping all the way up to the unit. I really love this little mixer I use it for everything, I have one of those monster mixers and I hate to drag it out and this one I can whip it right out, and it is so easy to clean. I highly recommend this for all you hand soreness people you won’t be sorry. Again Black & Decker has done good…. Thank you

Don’t Bother

Positive I still had my sunbeam for backup!!(Its about 30 years old)
Cons: Will probably strip and be unusable in a very short time.

I’ve had my MX55 hand mixer for about three years now. I admit, I don’t use it more than a few times a month, but for the occasional cook, such as myself, this mixer works great.

Description: 200 watts of power, also includes a “power boost” feature, which provides an extra blast of power at any speed. There are 5 speeds, and the highest speed is very fast! I pretty much only use the bottom two speeds. The handle is soft-grip, so it feels comfortable in your hand.

Shortly after the warrantee expired, the blades began striking one another. Since this adversely affected the mixing, I took it apart hoping to find a loose belt or the like. What I discovered were very worn nylon teeth on the gears for the mixer blades. Since they were driven by a metal screwgear, any resistance had to be met with wear. This could have been eliminated by using a better quality of plastic or metal in these gears. I have owned several Black and Decker products in the past, but this mixer will cause me to think twice in the future

Yet another gift that my husband and I received for our wedding a little over a year ago was Black and Decker’s Spatula Smart Mixer, Mx40. As a gift, it is a really good mixer. It does just what I want it to do- which is, well, mix.

Recently I had the pleasure of purchasing a new hand mixer. The old one died after over fifteen years of very faithful service. I was impressed with the sheer numbers of features the newer models had.

My problem was I didn’t want to drop an arm and a leg for a new mixer. Truth be told, I don’t use it that much, and couldn’t justify spending $60+ for something to sit in the cabinet 11 months a year.

I saw the super cheap-o models, made by KitchenTools and Proctor Silex, and thought they would probably do fine. Then, I saw the Black and Decker Spatula Smart Mixer.
