A Baker’s Best Friend - KitchenAid 325 Watts Artisan KSM150PS Stand Mixer

I am an avid baker and enjoy preparing everything from my own homebaked bread (no bread machine please!) to cookies, cakes, pies, brownies and once I even made whole wheat crackers. I had gotten to the point where my bread didn’t rise very well when I hand kneaded it. It still tasted as good as it ever did, but what was the problem? I was also using a hand held mixer to beat all the other ‘from scratch’ recipes and it was a chore.

CuisinArt Hand Mixer - Best Mixer I’ve Ever Used - Cuisinart 220 Watts HTM-7L SmartPower Hand Mixer

I have just added this to my gift list after using at my brother’s house recently. Because I do almost everything with my KitchenAid stand mixer, I didn’t think that I would need a hand mixer, but I’m wrong.

This mixer has two regular beaters, plus a third which you use by itself for meringues or whipped cream. There wasn’t any job I couldn’t use it for from mashed potatoes to cheesecake to pancake batter.

The mixer has several different settings which you see through an LED display. To add more power for more difficult mixing (like beating cream cheese), you simply press a button on the handle with your thumb.

Even a double batch of chocolate-chip cookie dough is no match for this three-speed electronic hand mixer with SmartPower. The powerful 220-watt motor easily cuts through refrigerated butter and dough; SmartPower is a programmed feature that automatically feeds in extra power when needed, so the mixer doesnt bog down. The stainless-steel beaters are extra long and wide, without a center post, to minimize clogging. Go from off to low, medium, or high with the push of a button, and the rotating swivel cord can be positioned out of the way whether youre right- or left-handed.

Run don’t walk away from this product!!! - KitchenAid 575 Watts Professional 600 KP26M1X Stand Mixer

I purchased my first Kitchen Aid Mixer about 7 years ago. I purchased the 5 qt. Artisan mixer. I LOVED it!!! So as my need grew I decided to go up the line to the next level the Professional 600 series. Right from the start I was disapointed with the choices of color, but if it worked better I would live with a pearlized color. It has similar features to other kitchen aid models. It comes with 3 attachments, a Whisk, Paddle and Dough hook. The first thing I noticed is that the parts are no longer dishwasher safe. Also instead of the head tilting back as it does in the smaller models, you have the bowl lift feature. This took a lot of getting use to, but again if I was able to get more work done in a shorter period of time I could live with it.

This past Christmas I was making my normal batch of Marshmallows( that I had made tons of times with my 5 qt model with no problem) when the machine just stopped revolving. When I called Kitchen Aid of course my warrenty had just expired. So when I called the recommended repair show I was shocked when I was told it would be a minimum of $200 to fix. It appears all though it is advertiesd as all metal, the casing that all of the gears are in are in is made of plastic. So if one goes everything goes. I was shocked. I had spent $400 on a machine to do more work and it worked less than my smaller one. At first I decided to go ahead and have the work done, but as I thought about it and investigated online I decided I had had enough. It turn out that the Hobart company has sold Kitchen Aid to Whirlpool and the quality has gone down. I am far from the only one that has suffered this problem and feel for the money I could get a much better reliable product. I am going to replace it with Cuisinart which is the same price but 1000 watts compared to 575.

If you want more specifics on the product I am sure many of the other reviewers can give that. I just want everyone to be warned how easily it blows gears.

good mixer, modest top speed and power - KitchenAid KHM7T Ultra Power Plus Hand Mixer

This review is for the Canadian model, the Kitchenaid 4KHM7T, which is the top Kitchenaid hand mixer model in Canada currently. It looks identical to the KHM7T but there may be some non-obvious differences.

I bought one of these to replace a cuisinart mixer that self-destructed on me. In comparing the two, I note in this mixer’s favor that:

- the tail is squared off thus allowing that end of the mixer to be rested on a countertop; it will even sit by itself on the countertop with no problem as the power cord is attached off on the right hand side

- the eject button is in a standard location

- it starts up in ‘off’ mode

CUISINART SmartPower after 1YR.! - Cuisinart 220 Watts HTM-7L SmartPower Hand Mixer

I have had my Quisinart SmartPower mixer for one year and can’t believe I ever got along without it! I really found that the read out LED on the handle is great (for those timed mixes!) and when you set a speed, it stays at that speed even if the substance gets thicker!

The beaters although the same size and shape as my old Black & Decker have held up MUCH better and are as good as when I got them!

My mom who is 83 said she’d thought the extra features foolish when I got it—but guess who loves to use it and keeps telling me how great it is? (RIGHT)

My old huge Sunbeam Mixmaster is loving it’s rest! I never lug it out except for something that needs kneading!

KitchenAid KHM5TB Hand Mixer Powers Up with Classic Style - KitchenAid KHM5TB Classic Plus Hand Mixer

The KitchenAid KHM5TB Hand Mixer came to live in my kitchen out of necessity, rather than want. Had not the 5-year old trusty Cuisinart HTM-7L hand mixer bit the dust by way of a frayed power cord (inherent flaw, as it turns out), I’d not have had the good fortune to get to know the KitchenAid.

Everything happens for a reason.

KitchenAid Experience

I have never purchased a KitchenAid product on my own, though have coveted several models of the stand mixer, hand mixers and assorted this-es and thats over the years, yet somehow have managed to luck out in terms of gifts.
