Cons: beaters broke on first use.

I got this mixer from my Mom after she bought it and she didn’t like it. Mom is a serious baker and this one just didn’t work out for her, but works for me just fine. I don’t bake much so this mixer does the job.

This mixer even though it says it can handle bread dough my mom said she found it had a hard time with the dough itself. I have found that it will mix cake dough, cookie dough, pancake mix, whip cream, salad dressings, scrambled eggs and the basics just fine. It is very stable and won’t sake and fall off the counter easily, The base is wide enough to hold it still while it is mixing. It comes with 1-1/2-quart and 4-quart stainless steel bowls, its 4-quart stainless-steel bowl and dough hooks, a 350-watt motor, 16-speed controls, chrome beaters, a very easy easy-release beater ejector, mixer-head release button, start/pause button, and an automatic cord rewind, which is great.

This mixer is easy to clean, just wipe with a warm rag and your done. I have had absolutely no trouble with this unit and I think it’s an excellent value for the price. I like the handy booklet that tells which speed is recommended for each type of mixing job, all though I forget where I put it most of the time.

This KitchenAid Ultra Power Plus Hand Mixer (Model # KHM5TB) has seen a lot of use in the 5-plus years that I have owned it. Having used a variety of hand mixers during the years, this one rates as my all-time favorite. Let me tell you why.

Description

A white mixer with classic lines, it measures 7 1/2″ long x 6″ high x 3 1/2″ wide. The front end of the mixer is rounded, presenting a modern appearance. There are two non-clogging vents at the front of the mixer and two on the back of the mixer. A heel rest allows upright positioning of the machine. Attached to the polarized plug is a round power cord that is permanently affixed to the hand mixer. The cord measures 66″ long.

I purchased this Farberware 16 speed stand mixer model FSM126E after much trial and error research of other models of similar cost. So far I am very satisfied with my final decision over this model. I was a very hard sell on a good mixer because I wanted specific features at a fair price and the Farberware model had everything I was looking for in a good home mixer.

It comes with 2 stainless steel mixing bowls of various sizes that are deep, to avoid splatters better when you start up the mixer. It also starts out slow which greatly helps in keeping the ingredients in the bowl. It comes with 2 sets of beaters that are large in size. One set of regular beaters and one set of dough hooks.

It has a 350 watt motor that so far has been capable of mixing everything from cookie dough to meat loaf with ease. This model is very stable on the counter and does not jump all over on high speeds with heavy dough like the Sunbeam and Hamilton Beach models I had purchased first and then returned to the store.

This model also has a “pause” feature on the start/stop button that I find very useful as well as an LED speed display and my favorite feature is the retractable cord. It includes a detailed instruction booklet with recipes. So far has lived up to my standards but if in the future I encounter problems I will come back and update this review. Thank you

My wife received this farberware mixer for a wedding present. She used it about three times, and the mixer broke. I opened it, and it has cheap plastic gears inside that turn the beaters. Well the metal gears on the motor, chewed up the cheap third rate gears, effectively ruining the mixer. When I finally waded through farberwares no help customer service, they explained to me that they didnt offer replacement parts but I could send it in to be replaced. The cost of replacement was only ten dollars less than what it actually costs in the store. What a waste of a perfectly good present. So on our first anniversary I sprang the extra money and bought the last mixer my wife will ever need.. A kitchenaid stand mixer.

I started into the cooking habit rather suddenly. One Christmas I began making candies and goodies that required a lot of whipping, beating, and mixing. A year later we had a hefty anniversary gift (money) right before Christmas and I decided I wanted a Kitchen Aid stand mixer so I could make more candies and goodies more easily. Why? Kitchen Aid’s reputation preceded it having seen it used by professionals and friends, all of which swore by them. My grandfather told me how they used one in the kitchen of the boys home and it lasted through constant beating and abuse. I started checking ebay for good deals on stand mixers and finally found one.

I do a lot of baking, and as a result, I’m very hard on mixers. I make a lot of Wilton cakes, so my stand mixer is usually busy with frosting, so I need a hand mixer to mix my cake batter.

When my trusty Farberware hand mixer gave up the ghost recently, I started looking at new hand mixers, but my husband took matters into his own hands and got me the KitchenAid 7-Speed Artisan Hand Mixer, Model KHM7TOB.
