I was thrilled to find the Hamilton Beach 63222 Stand Mixer on sale for 139.00 in my favorite color YELLOW! It is such a happy appliance to have sitting on the counter.

More than eighty years ago, Hamilton Beach introduced the DrinkMaster to the commercial food-service business. Now you can bring the same nostalgic look to your kitchen and open a soda fountain whenever the mood strikes. Malts and milk shakes turn out frothy, thick, and delicious; this machine also makes a fine yogurt-and-fruit smoothie. In comparison tests, DrinkMaster milk shakes were preferred over shakes made in a blender. The unit has a two-speed motor, a tilting head for easy removal of the stainless steel container, and a removable mixing shaft for easy cleaning.

The Proctor-Silex 5-speed Easy Mix mixer is a fairly standard low-end hand-held mixer with a couple of quirks worth knowing about ahead of time.

General description

As with most hand-held mixers, the beaters eject easily and can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.

The mixer has 5 speeds but I have never needed to go beyond the third speed. The mixer performs well on speeds 1 through 3—no shaking, smells, or other problems are evident, suggesting that the motor is of good quality.

I have always wanted a Kitchen Aid mixer. I have had other mixers, a Hamilton Beach which had a dough hook but did not seem to really work well with the dough hook and a Sunbeam which actually worked quite well. The sunbeam was of the shorter design which fit well under my low cabinets. But, I still really wanted a Kitchen Aid.

Finally after many years it was on sale at Linens and Things and I had a 20% off coupon. I was able to pick up the mixer for $159.99. I had never seen it priced lower.

The Proctor-Silex 5 Speed Mixer has been a blessing in disguise! I”ve had been using a 15 year old hand mixer for the past 2 years . . . and actually never used it much because it was just so old. Being the bargain shopper that I am, off I went to Walmart to find a new mixer.

I didn”t need anything fancy, just something for mash potatoes, mixing cake and brownie mix, and maybe beating eggs. I saw the white Proctor-Silex 5 Speed Mixer for $9.99 and decided to give it a whirl. I figured at that price why not? I could always return it if it wasn”t what I needed.
