I cook and bake a lot, and I wouldn’t want to be without my Kitchen Aid. The K45SS Classic and K5SS Heavy Duty mixers have been the standard bearers of the Kitchen Aid line for decades. Over the years many users have expressed a preference for the convenient access afforded by the tilt-up head design of the Classic, finding the bowl-lift feature of the Heavy Duty “professional” design somewhat awkward at best. The Classic offers ample power and capacity for 99% of home users. None-the-less some have always lamented that the Classic at 4.5 quarts / 250 Watts did not not quite match the power (325 Watts) and bowl size (5 quarts) of its larger stable mate.
