Beats Cakes, Doughs and Kitchenaids - DeLonghi 700 Watts Cucina DSM700 Stand Mixer

This is the legendary Kenwood with the 700-watt motor. The regular Kitchenaid has a 300-watt motor-less than half the power. Even the “professional” Kitchenaid has just 525 Watts, and it lacks the Delonghi’s tip-up head–making access to the bowl a nuisance.

If you only use a mixer for beating eggs or mixing cakes, and could really get by with a hand-mixer, but want a stand mixer that comes in pretty colors from a company that has paid lots for celebrity chef endorsements, and don’t mind paying more money for less power, convenience and reliability, get a Kitchenaid.

In the Mix - KitchenAid 300 Watts KSM90 Ultra Power Series Stand Mixer

The KitchenAid Ultra Power Stand Mixer was a birthday present from my husband nearly two years ago. Since then, this has been one of the most used appliances in our kitchen. And with its additional, and many various options, this mixer has proven to be a cost effective and time-saving machine. This particular mixer is part of the KitchenAid Countertop Collection; other appliances include food processors, coffee makers, blenders, microwave ovens and toasters.

Sunbeam 2485- all in good mixing! - Sunbeam 200 Watts 2484 Hand Mixer

This Sunbeam hand mixer is truly a better buy than those expensive, Kitchen Aid or cuisinart hand mixers because those other hand mixers have the exact same power, if not less than this one though your only paying for the name. am a college student, and I bought this mixer as well, I recieved the exact same mixer and use it about once or twice a month. It is the rival to the Black and Decker line. It features 200 watt motor, 6 speeds (though you’ll never have to exceed #4)and study beaters. Unfortunately, the 2485 model does NOT have the Burst of Power feature.

Magic Mill DLX 2000 a superior mixer - Magic Mill 450 Watts DLX 2000 Stand Mixer

Our Magic Mill is now ten years old. It accompanies a Braun 5 in 1 kitchen machine and a Rival/Kenwood KM250 as our fleet of stand mixers. It was purchased primarily for yeast doughs and it does the best job of mixing and kneading of any machine we have had including Bosch, KitchenAid, and Moulinex.

The roller and scraper perform beautifully for any recipe up to about twelve cups of flour. The dough hook is used when recipes call for larger amounts. This unit will not “walk” no matter how large the recipe. The unique action of the bowl rotating instead of a mixer head keeps everything stable and smooth. The mixer also does a great job with large batches of stiff cookie dough and it does not break chocolate chips when they are added. For cakes, it creams fat and sugar to a light airy consistency and performs all other mixing chores with ease. The plastic bowl with wire whips does a better job for whipping cream and egg whites than the metal bowl with roller and scraper, this option is included in the purchase price with many retailers. This machine has never disappointed us. It is manufactured in Sweden by Electrolux with typical Swedish high quality standards.

The God of mixers - KitchenAid 525 Watts KP2671X Stand Mixer

Just stop right there for a second. Take a long, hard look at your old mixer that smells funny every time you beat two eggs with a cup of sugar. Now, head to your favorite store, online or not, and treat yourself to one of these. This appliance is way beyond just a mixer. If you want just a mixer, you can get by with something way less expensive and powerful. But to me, life is just too short, you know what I mean? First thing you will notice about it is the assembly quality. Paint finish rivals that of luxury sedans. When they say “All metal construction” they mean it. This thing was not meant to be moved much. I saw a few people stating in their reviews that “it’s too heavy to put in the cabinet” Why??? It’s a work of art, leave it out on your countertop, be the envy of your friends, make them ask questions. After everybody is done lecturing you about spending almost $400 on a mixer, show them how perfectly it beats cookie dough into a nice, firm ball. Then ask them to do it with their mixer. That’s what I thought.

No, not everybody needs one this big and powerful, but if you enjoy cooking and entertaining your guests, you must get one of these. I am yet to find a task that it can’t handle.

Yes, it is a little loud, and it is very heavy, but it’s an American-built piece of power equipment, what did you expect? And yes, most people’s car payments are less than the price of this mixer, but I think you get what you pay for, especially if you consider the fact that this will probably be the last mixer you will ever buy. I was considering Epicurian (because of available colors), but went with Professional, because I like that extra little power. I bought mine from www.goodmans.net for $339 plus shipping. Man, I love this mixer!!!
