I am a cook and a pretty darn good one, but I make a mess of the kitchen, and a pretty darn good mess too. I love to cook and try new things and try to make those wonderful dishes that the chefs on FoodTV make. They make it look so effortless and easy - of course, they have a staff of 40 cutting, preparing and putting all the ingredients in those cool little bowls. What takes me 4 hours only takes them 20 minutes…

I received this mixer after many many years of hinting at one, for my birthday. I can honestly say, this is absolutely the best gift I ever received, outside of that 1972 Firebird Formula I got on my 16th birthday! This mixer is the ultimate kitchen machine and yeah, its heavy, but it looks great as an ornament in my kitchen and when its time to go to work, this unit works until I ask it to stop.

My favorite thing to make in the whole world is a pound cake. A lady I work with gave me a recipe that is TO DIE FOR and this KitchenAid mixer makes me a hero every single time I make it.

What I love about this mixer:

1. I have wanted one for years, and its finally here!

2. It is a classy addition to my kitchen, both for functionality and design

3. It works and works well, does anything I have asked it to.

4. As a baker, this mixer does a great job of preparing the batter.

5. Its heavy, and I see that as a good thing. Means it will last forever and don’t skip around on the counter when I am mixing.

6. My wife’s best friend is very jealous, she does not have one. I always use it when they come to town…

Okay, now for the real features that make this mixer great for everyone else:

1. 10 mixing speeds and comes with a 5 qt. stainless steel mixing bowl.

2. Utilizes a unique mixing action which rotates the beater to reach every section of the bowl.

3. 5-quart capacity bowl with ergonomic handle

4. Includes flat beater, dough hook, wire whisk, and bonus pouring shield

5. Durable all-metal construction designed for long life and quiet operation

6. Power Hub for Additional Attachments - Many attachments available (at additional cost, but worth it), including: food grinder, slicer and shredder, and fruit and vegetable strainer, pasta roller attachments and more.

7. Spare parts and accessories available for replacement bowls, beaters, whisks, etc. Spare parts are a good thing!

8. The metal bowl - it will not break. I have had mixers in the past and that glass bowl and my cast iron sink usually don’t get along too well!

My personal bottom line

If you want the best mixer you can get, buy a KitchenAid. Its one of the most popular and what comes with that are all the features described above. If its a widely used one, the people that make them and the accessories and spare parts for them, will continue to do so for many years, making this a worthy appliance and a fixable one in case something breaks!
